Home base for Bourbon Hills BBQ & Outdoors is Smithville, West Virginia. Our family ran business is the brainchild of brothers Sammy and Freddy Hall along with father, Sam Hall. Our family has been running t these Appalachian hills for as long as you can imagine. We take pride in living a self-sufficient life by harvesting wild game the right way and bringing our family and friends together while doing so.
Beginning in the summer of 2021, BH hit the road doing BBQ pop ups at festivals, fairs, and outdoor events. It’s been a big hit throughout the region, and we look forward to taking to a new level in the years to come.
The legendary grandfather of BH, Pat Hall paved the way on the farm in Smithville, WV for the way we do things today. Much of the outdoor activity you see takes place on the family farm in Smithville. With year-round work we have turned our property into a hunting paradise.
The father of BH, Sam Hall, has been at it for a while now too. From spending weekends making access roads to smoking tons of meat for events, his knowledge of logistics and business has been a key factor in our early success. Sam is also the manager at ACE Home center in Pennsboro, WV. He’s brought in some of the best BBQ supplies in the region including the HuntChef line of products.
Oldest son, Sammy Hall, former D1 football player, is all in on taking the BBQ to the next level and has went all in on hunting over the past few years as in his post football life. Currently residing in Johnson City, TN, he frequently travels to WV for BBQ events and to hunt. Sammy does BBQ for private events in TN and does a good portion of the content you see on our pages.
Youngest son, Freddy Hall, is the king of the outdoors for BH. With tireless work on food plots and precise placement of tree stands on our property, his efforts are huge in the habitat improvement and overall hunting success we’ve been having. Freddy is a trapper as well, keeping predator population intact during trapping season for a better overall outdoor environment.
We take great pride in the work we do and the number of friends and family we bring together for a common cause. The events we do takes an army to run a smooth operation. The mother of BH, Vanessa Hall plays a huge role in keeping things running smooth, putting in hours of work behind the scenes. Others that play a massive role in our pop ups include Michael Yudt, Jennifer McCullough, Brian McCullough, Katlyn Kniceley and Olivia Willis. We hope you enjoy what you see. We strive to stay on the cutting edge of everything we do while carrying on traditions of the past.
