Matt Foster

My name is Matt Foster. I resides in Puxico, Missouri and my home lake is Wappapello Lake. Along with fishing Wappapello, I often travel to Reelfoot Lake, Kentucky Lake, and Mississippi’s “Big Four” in search of slabs . My favorite lake to fish is Reelfoot Lake in West Tennessee.

In my free time I can be found on the lake fishing, giving fishing electronics classes, or teaching people how to fish. I teach courses to First Responders on locating submerged vehicles, boats, and drowned victims utilizing electronics. I also fish several local charity tournaments each year including a wounded warrior tournament. This year I have plans to fish the American Crappie Trail, a few Crappie USA tournaments, and the Midwest Crappie Alliance Dale Hollow Shootout. I also own and manage The Crappie Blog. The Crappie Blog is a video, article, and photography page that promotes the sport of crappie fishing. I travel across the country doing media camps for businesses in the fishing/outdoor industry.

As with any outdoorsman, I also like to cook. My specialty is crappie tacos and blackened crappie. For the tacos, I use HuntChef Taco Takedown and cook the fish on a skillet with light oil. When making blackened crappie, I use HuntChef Low Down and Dirty rub on both sides of the fillet and cook them on my Blackstone. Get some of the HuntChef products for your next cookout and I promise you won't be disappointed!
